WOW......Do I Feel Old!!!!!

Yesterday we went to Florence for Kayla's 14 th birthday party!!!! I feel old because when Kayla was first born I took care of her all day for a couple of months while her mom and dad were at work. It was a fun party and Evan had a blast. He loves to climb.

UH, OH......I might be stuck.......he made it out unscathed!!!

When it got too hot to play outside we went in and Evan had fun playing with the dogs toys. ( I think Sam is a little worried here that his toys might disappear!!).

We also enjoyed the delicious hot dogs/hamburgers etc..... but best of all was the red velvet birthday cake!!!

Reflecting back on a day.......

I have been sitting here today thinking back..... it has been rainy and gloomy here for the past several days and so was the day we brought Evan home. But what joy and sunshine he has brought to us. I got out pictures and looked at some of the video's we've taken. ( All while Evan is napping, of course ). I ran across this one and just had to share it with you. I am so glad our little Evan is growing up to be a strong, healthy boy but I gotta tell ya, I miss him being little too. They grow so quickly. Pine Island.....My new escape!!!!!

Today our next door neighbors invited us to a private beach area at the Lake Murray Dam. ( Which I have now deemed my new relaxing spot!!!!) It is called Pine island. So we loaded up the kids and took off...........

This area is so neat. There is a playground for them to play at and a beach/sandy area right down to the lake. There is also a pool nearby.

Most of our time was spent playing in the sand and in the water. Here are Noah and Evan playing. Mitzi and I actually could sit and relax and talk too as everything is right there and you don't have to spend all your time chasing children!!!!! It was such a fun day!!!!!!!!

Our last week and a half

We pretty much started last week with a fat lip. Poor Evan......he gets going to fast for his little legs to keep up. So, he kept this fat lip a good part of the week.

Saturday we went to North Carolina for Eric's cousin's wedding. We attended the wedding but by the time the reception got going Evan was tired. He hadn't had a nap pretty much the whole day. Needless to say, we had to leave early but I got this picture before we left. Evan LOVES to play in water so he had his hands all in the bucket that was holding cold water for the guests.

The beginning of this week our neighbors came over for a little visit. Eric is trying to entertain them all so their mom and I can talk peacefully ( what is that!!!??? : ) ).

It is now Wednesday and we are getting some much needed rain in South Carolina!!!! And it has cooled it off too!!!! During a lull in the rain Evan had to go play out in the puddle at the end of our driveway.

Notice his stylish haircut. We also did that this morning!!! That is ALWAYS an experience!!!!

So, We have been busy but we are doing good!!!!! Our main goal is to keep upright and have no more falls!!!!!!!!

A Busy Week

We were in Florence/Dillon all of last week. I went to work the mornings at the office I used to work at. They needed someone to fill in. So Evan stayed in Dillon with his grandparents while I worked. He had a blast. And I think they did too!!!!
I worked with a dear friend, her name is Jeannie, and her grandchildren have outgrown this car so she graciously gave it to Evan. He LOVES it!!! I think he pushes it around more than rides in it.

He loves the outdoors and even though it has been around 105 with the heat index he still wants to be outside.

And after a hard days work at play he would hang out with Papa. We had a real good week visiting with everyone. I enjoyed working back at my ol' stomping ground.....the last day Dr C even ordered A Lasagna dinner which we all enjoyed immensely!!! I was threatened not to put pictures of the event on my blog so sorry, I don't want to get into trouble with particular Ladies. : ) And you know who you are............ But be ever mindful because you never know when they might pop up!!!!
