Our Springfield, Missouri Trip

We made our third trip to MO since Evan was born. Just he and I usually fly there as Eric is busy with work. It is so good to visit with everyone!!! Evan does real well on the airplanes, course usually ends up entertaining at least one person. : ) Evan did ALOT better this visit. He is a BUSY boy though so did not get many pictures with family as I would have liked to but everyone enjoyed him alot I think. He really had fun wearing Aunt Jacque's reading glasses
Evan and Aunt Jacque

We went to the Springfield mall where they have a really cool play area.

Evan in a boat

Evan going through a tunnel

In dad's house he has a stool that my grandmother had in her house in Denver that I used to sit and play on. Didn't take Evan long to find it and do the same. : ) Not too many exciting pictures but we did have fun despite a few rough spots. We are glad to be home with Eric but miss EVERYONE in the Ozarks!!!!!!

Edventure Kid's Museum!!!!

WOW!!!!!! What a neat place this was!!!! We went last night with our neighbors to the museum. Once a month they have family night and it is just a dollar per person to get in. We did not begin to cover everything there is to do and see. It was alot of fun. This is a replica of a little boy that is in the foyer when you first walk in. It is a site to say the least. On the backside is a slide. He is HUGE!!!!

Here is Eric, Little David and Evan standing next to his foot.

Eric and Evan milking a cow, well, sorta.

Evan LOVES cars. And he is trying to tell his grandparents here that this is what he would like for his birthday!!! Just kidding. But it was really neat they get to get in these things and touch things

I had to include this picture. They are sitting on a bench that is to be like you are sitting in a canoe. This is for Grandpa Earls benefit.

And we say goodbye with the firetruck, what little boy doesn't like a firetruck?? This is really just a Birdseye view to all they have. They have a little super market the kids could " shop" at, an African room, an outside area with all kinds of neat things to explore. We will be going back again one day to check it out some more. Come join us!!!!

Evan's Swimming Pool

Here is poor daddy blowing up Evans swimming pool. We have a neighborhood swimming pool but sometimes you just don't want to have to go anywhere and it has been soooo hot!!!!!

.......... and still blowing it up.........

.............and passed out after losing so much oxygen, what we do for our kids.

Evan had a lot of fun in the pool . Don"t look at the "grass". It is so hot and dry here that the grass is struggling to grow and get green. We will have to turn our sprinkler system on.

BUT, as a side note, WE HAVE A TOMATO!!!!!!!! Actually a couple. We are thrilled that Eric's experiment is actually working so far. It is fun to go out each day and see the progress.

Evan Conqueres Balloon Fear

I think Evan now loves balloons. For the longest time he was afraid of them and wanted to only look from afar!!!! I am not sure if everyone heard the story of some restaurant insisting he have a balloon ( he was a little over a year old). So we took it home keeping it away from him. I tied it to his clothes hamper thinking he could look at it, well..... from afar. So all was well and we went to bed.

Now in the morning he is unlike his mother and is quite cheerful upon getting up. This particular morning though I was greeted with screams of terror. I jumped out of bed and ran into his bedroom not knowing what I was about to see. I honestly did what some people might see as insensitive but when I saw what the problem was I broke out in hysterical laughter( which, like I said, is not like me first thing in the a.m.). The balloon had come undone and had floated into his crib with him and he was desperately trying to get away but was contained in his crib!!!!!! Hilarious!!!!! You will have to take my word for it. So we have come along way as you can see by this picture.

Evan's Playdate

Evan had his friend Caleb over today. I watched him while his mom went to work. They had a lot of fun. Caleb is a month younger than Evan and at this stage they really don't play together, but alongside each other. I actually got them to sit still for about 5 seconds

They had fun getting the toys everywhere!!! They could barely walk around.

We went for a short wagon ride around 9:30 a.m. and I say short because It was HOT. But they seemed to enjoy being outside for a little while. We'll have to start getting up at 6:00 a.m. to play in the yard b/c it is already getting so hot here. Saturday, they say, will probably be 100 degrees!!! We'll have to go to the pool more often. Well, so you can see that Evan had a fun time with his friend and no one got hurt ( you know boys : ) ) and everyone left happy and now Evan is down for a much needed nap!!! WE are all tired!!! : )

Update on Eric's pride and Joy!!

Just to give you folks who are interested about Eric's tomato plants and their coming along, here is an update. They are doing great and 4 hanging pots have buds and mine on the ground in a pot has buds too!!!
Here is another view, OH, and note Eric in the background with Evan showing the proper method of "Boy catching" by bending at the knees!!!!!

Yard Work!!!!!

It is no surprise to anyone that I don't like yard work. I think I wouldn't mind it so much if you didn't have to sweat to death in the unforgiving South Carolina heat!!!!!!!!!!! It is a killer. But what was a totally beautiful scene as you gazed outta the sun porch when we first came to see the house, still is a nice yard but one WE have to keep up!!!!!!!!!!! Eric doesn't really mind but the problem there is time as his job takes a lot of his. Anyway, we are still thankful for the view.

We thought Evan would be scared to death of the riding lawnmower but as you see here HE LOVES IT!!!!! And cries when daddy " REALLY" has to mow the yard and he has to get off.

Evan enjoys being with his daddy and I think the feeling is mutual!!!!!!
